Empowering Adolescent Girls and Caregivers for a Resilient Future
At PROSIMA, we believe that lasting change begins at the grassroots. From 2021 to 2023, with support from the Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF), we implemented a transformative project aimed at empowering adolescent girls and their caregivers in underserved communities.
The goal was simple but powerful: to equip families with the tools, skills, and support they need to break the cycle of poverty and vulnerability. With a grant of $65,000, our team reached over 360 adolescent girls and 102 caregivers, providing them with training in business and financial literacy, vocational skills like tailoring and hairdressing, and essential knowledge around gender-based violence prevention and reproductive health.
Through this initiative:
Safe spaces were created for children to receive psychosocial support.
Over 100 vulnerable children received food, legal aid, and medical support.
Parents were trained on leadership and saving practices, strengthening family resilience.
Young girls found new paths to independence and hope.
This is just one chapter in PROSIMA’s ongoing journey to uplift single mothers and their families. Together, we continue to build communities where love, care, and opportunity flourish.
